Oh man! I think Aliens abducted my mechanical pencil for their evil and maniacal purposes! I put it down and suddenly I can't find it! Just like typical aliens, turn up and do something evil just when you're busy... I'll bet they're going to inconvienience me by turning it into some evil death ray that destroys people by destroying the individual molecular chromosomes residing withing their cells... Typical.
