Church

Went to church this morning. Had to find some way to stop the egg from smashing when they were dropped onto the floor as part of our lesson. As three-quarters of the class flocked to the hot water machine to boil their eggs. Trying to be creative, me and my partner emptied the egg of its contents through much hard work. It worked! However the teacher wasn't very impressed when he realised how light it was and what we did. He crushed the egg and deemed it "soul-less"... It was then, they explained to us that while they said protect the egg by any means possible, they meant, either wrap the egg or boil it. Because the lesson was supposed to be about being completely changed after accepting God and being able to survive any fall after that. Geez, talk about stunting people's creativity. We didn't even get the prize that was supposed to be given out for being able to protect your egg. Grr....

9 more days to exams. Have studied partly, Social studies, Biology, Chemistry, E-maths, Physics, Chinese.

You've got an important point there, Ming. Organised religion is mutually incompatible with creativity. After all, one is about marching lockstep in faith, with no room for opposition or argument, and the other is about breaking down barriers and venturing off the beaten path into the unknown and not understood.

Or you could post the phrase that it was God who made you think the way you did (ie creatively) to come up with such solutions - and add the creative twist that it is His gift to you for thwarting whatever obstacles might spring up to hinder your faith in Him. But then again, didn't God give us free will? So then if religion is "organized" (with a 'z'), technically we made it organized, but that does not mean to say that we did not leave room for creativity. Besides, you can still be a good Christian without following the standards of established religion. Afterall, it is through faith and not by works that we are saved (Ephesians)...so technically, we could even get out of the going to church as long as we believe in God...but that shouldn't stop you from attending ^.~
