And so at last it's here. After having stopped for almost 3 months and rather painfully crawling back to where I am, I'm actually very happy with how I did on Sunday. A 4:08 for 400 Free is decent *cough*. Aiming as I am for the 4 double-oh, it's not that great. Plus, Marcus beat me by .03 seconds. Bit of a put off.
But I can't say he doesn't deserve it, he has put in a lot of effort and his training attitude has changed since last year, whether he knows it or not. It's good to know that more people at the COE are trying their best. So, I shan't begrudge him this victory, he found it in himself to sprint at the end and win by the tiniest of touches. Haha. But it won't be so easy for him the next time. And I still have 2 months.
Anyhow, I still have 4 days, including a 200 Free and a 100 Free that I quite want to do well in. I was, ironically, hoping to do the 1500 this time but coach decided I could do without it and concentrate on the 100 Free seeing as how I could almost make the qualifying time for it. i.e. the time for Australian age AND SEA games.
Bah, my boss is making me swim the chain of command on friday. Even though I found a suitable substitue to take over. He conveniently swapped my substitute for the other person who was supposed to swim, hence, I'm back to square 1. DANG IT! Oh well, won't be swimming too fast. A 27? 28, maybe? Who knows? Definitely not fast, though. With COSCOM. How on earth could we lose the chain of command!?
