2 songs

The first song will be from Monkey Island. One of my all-time favourites, although I don't know if it can be considered a song...

A Pirate I was Meant to be

(Talking)
Captain: Thanks for the help back there guys.(sarcastically)
Third Mate: It was a rousing battle, Captain.
First Mate: Aye, and it reminds me of a song...

(singing)
First Mate: We're a band of vicous pirates
Second Mate: A Sailin' Out to Sea!
Third Mate: When ye hear our gentle singin'
First Mate: Be sure to turn and flee!
(talking) Captain: Ohh, this is just ridiculous.

Captain: Come on men, We've GOT to recover that map!
Second Mate: That pirate will be done for when he falls into our trap!

Third Mate: We're a club of tuneful rovers
First Mate: We can sing at every clef
Second Mate: We can even hit the high notes!
First Mate: It's just too bad we're tone deaf.

All Mates: A pirate I was meant to be, trim the sails and roam the seas!

Captain: Let's go defeat that evil pirate!
Second Mate: We know he's sure to lose because we know just where to fire at!

Second Mate: We're a thieving valideer
First Mate: A gang of cutthroat mugs
Third Mate: To fight us off you wont need guns
Second Mate: Just jolly good earplugs!

All Mates: A pirate I was meant to be, trim the sails and roam the seas!

Captain: Alright crew, let's get to work!
First Mate: Our vocation is a thing we love, a thing we never shirk!

First Mate: We'll fight you in the harbor
Third Mate: We'll battle you on land
Second Mate: But when you meet singing pirates
(talking) Captain: They'll be more than you can stand.
First Mate: Oh, ho, that was a good one!
Captain: No, it wasn't.

Captain: No time for song, we've got to move!
Third Mate: The battle will be long, but our courage we will prove!

Second Mate: We're a pack of scurvy seadogs
First Mate: Have we pity? Not a gram
Third Mate: We all eat roasted garlic
First Mate: And sing from the diaphram.

All Mates: A pirate I was meant to be, trim the sails and roam the seas!

Captain: Less Singing, More Sailing!
Second Mate: When we defeat our wicked foe his ship he will be bailing!

Third Mate: If ye try to fight us
First Mate: You'll get a nasty whackin'
Second Mate: If you disrespect our singin'
First Mate: We will treat ye to a crackin'!

All Mates: A pirate I was meant to be, trim the sails and roam the seas!

Captain: I'm getting so sick of you guys and your rhyming!
First Mate: We're ready to set sail, though the cannons need a primin'!

Second Mate: We're troublesome corsairs
Third Mate: We've come to steal yer treasure
First Mate: We would shoot ya in the downbeat
Second Mate: But we've got a rest by measures

All Mates: A pirate I was meant to be, trim the sails and roam the seas!

Captain: (whining)Stop, stop, stop!
Third Mate: The brass is what we'll pollish and the deck is what we'll mop!

Captain: You say you're nasty pirates,
Thieving scheming bad-bush whackers,
But from what I've seen I tell you you're no pirates,
You're just slackers!

All Mates: A pirate I was meant to be, trim the sails and roam the seas!

Captain: We'll surely avoid scurvy if we all eat an orange.
(Crew Desperately tries to think of a word to rhyme orange with)
First Mate: and..
Second Mate: umm...
Third Mate: well..
First Mate: uhh..
Third Mate: Door Hinge?
Second Mate: No, no..
Third Mate: Guess the song's over then.
First Mate: Guess so...
Second Mate: OK, back to work.
Captain: Well, gee.. I feel a little guilty now.

Ah, that brings back good memories of the Monkey Island series. The next song is put here because it popped up in one of the Friends episodes I was watching and I just decided to randomly slot it in here for fun.

Billy Don't Be a Hero
Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods

The marchin' band came down along Main Street
The soldier-blues fell in behind
I looked across and there I saw Billy
Waiting to go and join the line
And with her head upon his shoulder
His young and lovely fiancee
From where I stood, I saw she was cryin'
And through her tears I heard her say

"Billy, don't be a hero, don't be a fool with your life"
"Billy, don't be a hero, come back and make me your wife"
And as he started to go she said "Billy, keep your head lo-o-ow"
"Billy, don't be a hero, come back to me"

The soldier-blues were trapped on a hillside
The battle raging all around
The sergeant cried "We've got to hang on, boys"
"We got to hold this piece a'ground"
"I need a volunteer to ride up"
"And bring us back some extra men"
And Billy's hand was up in a moment
Forgettin' all the words she said

She said
"Billy, don't be a hero, don't be a fool with your life"
"Billy, don't be a hero, come back and make me your wife"
And as he started to go she said "Billy, keep your head lo-o-ow"
"Billy, don't be a hero, come back to me"

I heard his fiancee got a letter
That told how Billy died that day
The letter said that he was a hero
She should be proud he died that way
I heard she threw that letter away...

Ah, that brings back good memories... The war, the trenches, the planes flying overhead as the sound of gunfire was everywhere. Yes, Command and Conquer: Generals was good, alright. Okay, so there wasn't trenches, but there was still everything else. =D

What? What were you expecting?? :P

Something Extra

Well, I'm not up to updating my blog today, but I'll leave a little something for you readers to look at.

Which [Smallville] Characters are you?

Is the glass half full or half empty?

Which [Finding Nemo] characters are you?

Which [Movie Genres] are you?

A TAN Dragon Lies Beneath!

I took the Inner Dragon online quiz and found out I am a Tan Dragon on the inside. My Inner Dragon is the true draconic magic-user. Tans have been all but forgotten in popular literature, but that suits them just fine. They're slightly shy and spend most of their time in impassable mountain valleys. When feeling brave or adventurous, Tans use their shape-shifting ability to blend in with society. Given a choice, however, Tans still much prefer to be left to their own devices.

I like to spend time devising new and interesting spells, and counting my gigantic treasure. My favorable attributes are longevity, security, magic, and reverence for life. To top it off, my breath weapon is a curious mix of Fire and Air. Just tell folks to watch out, like all Tans I've got a seriously short temper!

That's it for today, folks!

Club Med Bintan

Came back from Club Med Bintan yesterday. What a refreshing trip. I feel invigorated all over. Suddenly, I have the urge to blog 100 entries! No, okay, not that energised. I think I'll just stick to one.

Anyway, Club Med was fun. I went with my mom, my Godma and my cousin, Angie. First day there was good, we arrived at about 10.30, so we dashed off for late breakfast, and after a brief rest, for Lunch. Mmm... Good food there. :D Then we went off to go sailing. I learnt how to operate a sailboat, it's actually quite simple. Then again, the wind was more or less dying down. After that, we went swimming... Yeah, yeah, not what I wanted to do on a holiday, but Angie forced me to! Also, there's not much else to do after sailing. I wanted to Kayak, but the place closed, so I had to settle for swimming.

Went over to the archery range the next day, got a huge bruise, cause the line kept hitting the uncovered part of my arm. I also shot one arrow through the net behind after I missed horrendously. We tried to go look for it, but we couldn't find it. Oops. On the other hand, I got one arrow into the bull's eye. Yay!

I also went SCUBA Diving, really cool. I got to see this baby Manta Ray sleeping under some rocks. The fishes and coral were really, really beautiful, too. And it was really fun, because when you inhale and rise, the air inside you expands, so you can rise just by doing that or fall by exhaling. Just have to be careful not to inhale fully, cause you can seriously injure yourself with the expanding air.

That's about it, really, I didn't do very many activities, but then, I was there more for rest. The shows the put on were good. The Trapeze act, called stars, cause it was under the stars... There was also a very funny lipsync competition by the people there. They dressed up to look like 5 different artists, ABBA, M. Jackson, Figaro, Queen and Madonna.

The stars were also amazing. Back here in Singapore you cn only see a handful. In fact, you could probably count them and not reach 20 or 30. But there, wow, it's a LOT better.

Cards, swimming and fishies...

Right, so I didn't quite make it on Wednesday or Thursday(Or Friday or Saturday or Sunday for that matter) to update, but at least I am updating it now, see? Yay!

Anyway, I had a busy day on Thursday, went out to watch Finding Nemo with the APSC R&W group. Quite a funny movie, if you're free and have nothing to do, then you should go watch it, but you're not really missing out on anything if you don't. I also caught the trailer to League of Extraordinary Gentlemen there. It looked absolutely fantastic! Sean Connery makes an excellent Allan Quatermain, if I do say so myself. However, I thought Mina Harker was the leader of the team... not Allan Quatermain. And... she wasn't a Vampire, as far as I know of. Well, either way, I can't wait to for it to come out here. It's already out in the States, ARGH! I wonder if James Moriarty will still be the villain, I thought it was quite funny when it turned out to be him in the end.

So, after the movie, I rushed over to Specialist Centre... only to find out that the tourney was at Midpoint Orchard. Grr... and it was raining quite heavily, didn't help the the wind was so strong I had to struggle to hold on to the Umbrella. After I got there, we had to wait for Byron's friends to turn up to. So, while they said it's start at 6, it only got going at 7. Did quite badly, though. Lost three games of four. I did start out very badly though, first game against Ewan. Thanks A LOT , guys... After having lost, what? 7 of 7 games to Ewan before, it's not the best thing to begin the first game with him. Then, the next game I won, but then, the other player was a newbie, so... it was kinda expected. The third game was against Elwyn!! Argh! What was with my luck that day?! Curse it!! And the last game, I got a really bad, bad hand, or I might have won. But either way, it was a very tight hand and he got a really good hand. He said so himself. So, I was 5 of 8 in the tourney, but now I'm tied 4th in the WHOLE of Singapore!! Mwahahahaha! Okay, okay, so it's not good, everyone else is fourth, only first, second and third get extra points, but still, I'm better than those 3 who don't have points! Mwahahahaha! So, I'm being evil, so sue me.

Played a bit of Hackmaster with the guys on Sunday, didn't quite turn out so well, the critical hit system needs a lot of getting used to. But then, so does almost everything else in the game. The only saving grace is that it's very close to the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons system.

Finally, yesterday's meet. Didn't quite do so well. Was very, very, very tired after the 200 Back, for which I don't think I preformed that well either. I think my strokes weren't too good. So, I'll probably work on that the next time. Probably work on my Breaststroke too, that really stunk during the IM.

One last thing, I forgot to mention it in my last blog entry, but does anyone know why Manny Calavera had to work off time at the DoD? When he talked to Domino, he said he had no idea why, maybe it was mentioned somewhere in the game and I missed out?

Same ol', same ol'

Hey everybody! I'm back! Tadaa! After a looong hiatus, I decided that everyone simply was dying to know what was happening in my life. So, I decided to come back again :D

I'm very happy right now, cause I just completed Grim Fandango! Yeah, I know, old, old game. But then, anything a year old is old now. But it's still fantastic. I played it before, but my computer crashed each time I reached a certain area. This time, a patch came out... or maybe it came out before, I just never bothered... could be that too. Anyway, so I installed the patch and whaddaya know? It worked! Actually, I only got around to looking for a patch cause I was stuck at the part with a forklift, for those of you who have played. For those of you who haven't, suffice to say, my computer was too quick for me, I needed the patch for that area to be solvable. Anyway, that's over now, but for those of you who haven't played, I strongly recommend playing it, I think it's a fantastic game.

Also, my GCE Os for the chinese written paper just ended on Monday, so I'm still in the "after-exam partying mood". I think I did okay for it, the paper was quite easy. Or at least, easier than my mid-year paper. Heh heh, if I pass, I'll be scoring higher than my brother! Mwahahahaha! 'Course, if I pass, my brother will never hear the end of it. Hopefully, I'll get a B, my tuition teacher thinks that's the least I should get.

I also stumbled upon this riddle site, it's called The Net Riddle. Supposedly, you attempt two stages of riddles and whoever completes the whole thing gets the money from the "Jackpot". 50% of all the ad revenue the site generates goes to the jackpot and the other 50% goes to a new site. Currently I'm still at Stage 1, part 7. I haven't gone back in a while, cause I'm stuck at that part. Haven't quite gotten around to solving it and playing Grim Fandango all the while didn't help. I think I'll probably solve it sometime later, after I get back from training. It's actually quite easy, just haven't got around to thinking about it yet.

Tomorrow's my competition for A Game Of Thrones (a.k.a AGOT)! Yay! After all this time, Ewan finally came back and we can start having competitions. And I can finally get a ranking too. Currently, I'm ranked last, tied with everyone else at 0. Then Ewan came along and we got all excited, cause we could finally play and see who's better... that is till Ewan told us that he shifted his name from Minnesota to Singapore, so now he's first, with an impossible 300 points... *Sigh* Lousy, meddlesome Lannister...

Anyway, I've got to go swimming, I'll probably blog again tonight or tomorrow at the latest to write about how the competition went.
