Spy glasses... Whaddam!

Hahaha, I got this really cool package from my bro, it contained spy glasses and a postcard saying "Beware of Female Spies". Hahaha... it's really, really cool. But my mom got to the package first and "accidentally" opened it, and she told our maid, rose. Well, now we know there are spies in this household. No, I'm not going to tell you what the glasses do, that'd be just plain stupid, isn't it? I thought it was very funny that the front of the packaging for the glasses said "5+"...

Anyway, had honors day rehearsal AND sec 4 farewell chapel AND paper review. Which means, I had to rush from one to the other and miss recess. But, I was like... heck, and I went for recess, which took me an amazing 10 min. HAha, so I went back to the audi, and these few guys were hanging outside, and they were like, " I'm not going in there, Karen Liau is going to kill me!! You go in there." So, they were wandering in circles, and I walked up, walked right in, and no one even glanced at me twice. They hadn't even started?! So, I walked in sat down, just as the teacher went ," I want a marked attendance list from all the classes here!" Yeah, like none of the class reps were going to cover up for the guys anyway...

Well, that's all for today, very tired, can't keep up with everyone else in the pool after stopping to study for so long. And I wanna go around in my cool shades. Haha... Don't worry, it's not X-ray...

A Game Of Thrones

I'm tired, it's 11.45, I just came back from my tourney, but I won! I won my first tourney! After I went back for the first time in so many months!! Yay! Well... it was a multi-player tourney with modified rules, but I still won!! I'm so excited... I'll go snap some pictures of the cert I got and post it here sometime. :) Yay! Oh well, no more tourneys till after exams. I still can't believe I won, and I was playing Ewan both times. I managed to get a win and a modified win. Both times, zooming up from nowhere to claim 4 or 5 power in one shot. :D Lucky day... I got really good draws in the beginning, any other time I think I probably would've lost. Whew!

Bowling, swimming and The END of exams!!

Yay! EXAMS ARE OVER!!!!!!!! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY!

Yeah, still got to study for Os... but I got one whole week to relax, can you blame me? If you can, don't say it, I don't want to hear it.

I went training yesterday afternoon, very sad. Only Lionel, Andrew and I turned up, but at least it gave me a good opportunity to work on my comic. Haha. For those of you who don't know, it's called The Adventures Of AQUA-DUDE!!! Haha, I'm almost done, I just have a few more scenes to shoot, and do a final edit. Half of it is more or less done, but I can't upload it, it's simply too big. 2.5 Megs, and it's still incomplete. If you want it, message me, and I'll try to send it over to you. :D

Also, Andrew and I had the most amusing time trying to undo the lane ropes, even though there was only one. It went something like this...

Andrew: Come on, Ming, help me undo the ropes, you push, I'll pull.

Ming: Okay! Good idea...

Ming PUSHES, Andrew PULLS.

A: Hmm... it's not working...

M: I know, I know, you push and I'll pull!!

A PUSHES and M PULLS

M: Hmm... still doesn't work. Dang. Oh, I know. We need someone to actually unhook the rope! Hah! That's what was wrong. Okay, I'll push AND pull and you unhooks the rope!

A: Okay! Sounds like a plan.

M PUSHES and PULLS and A trues to UNHOOK the rope.

A: Hmm... still not working, maybe I should try pulling and pushing and you try unhooking the rope.

A PUSHES and PULLS, M tries to UNHOOK the rope.

M: Argh, it's still not working!!

A: Quick! Jiao Lian's looking this way!! Do something!! Anything!! Quick! Before she scols us... *Whimper*

A GRABS M's arm and shakes it in fear.

M: Okay, okay, I got it, let's try cutting the rope with our hands...

M and A try to CUT rope with hands.

A: Ow! Ow! Rope burn!! Ow... We need another plan!

M: Oh... Lionel's here! He can push and I pull and you unhook!

A and M tell L the plan.

L: Okay!

L PUSHES, M PULLS, A UNHOOKS

A: No!! It's still not working!! Oh no! Jiao Lian's actually looking this way this time, quick unhook the rope!! Quick!!

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted... haha

So, anyway, went out with my friends today and had a lot of fun. We went to watch The Italian Job. I wouldn't say it's an amazing movie, but it's quite good. The plot unfortunately is too predictable... sigh. But overall, it was quite okay. My favourite character would have to be the one played by Seth Green. His obsession with being known as the one who invented Napster is hilarious, and when he screamed "YES!!" and everyone looks at him, and he goes "The Holy Spirit entered me!!" Or something to that extent, I burst out laughing. It was made even funnier, by my one friend who was boo-ing and going blasphemy!! Hahaha...

Then, we went bowling, and had a lot of fun. I was top scorer! Yay! :D Haha... I actually performed very badly on the first game, and one of our friends started off amazingly well, and got two strikes within 3 frames of each other, after that, his game kinda went downhill. We were split into two groups, 2 of 3 in the first and 2 of 4 in the second when 2 more guys joined us. Just before we start, David looks at me and says, "Eh... I got a score to settle with you... The last time around, you beat me by 2 points!! 2 points! This time, I must beat you!" And honestly, I cannot remember the scores when I last played with him, which was sometime ago, and I cannot remember beating him by 2 points, which he claims is very humiliating. 'Course, he ended up 21 points behind this time... haha... If I seem like I'm boasting, I can't help it, I can't get over the fact that David was all fired up to beat me and lost by an even larger margin. And it's not like I've been practicing or anything, I haven't played since the last time I played with him.

We took quite a few pictures of it, I'll try and have them uploaded if I can, but first,I have to procure them from my friend. Didn't bring my camera, so I don't have any on hand.

No School Tomorrow! Yay! And no training tomorrow! Ironic, cause I was kinda hoping to catch up on my swimming, and work hard this week as there's no school, but the whole week, there's no morning training. Oh well...

Change in schedule.

I have officially decided to change my work schedule. From now on, I shall work full time on weekends, and rest on weekdays. Also, seeing how Sunday is a holiday, I shall take that day off too. It's only fair, if everyone else rests on that day, so shall I. And, on Saturdays, I shall work half days, with an hour's rest for a tea break between my work schedule. This new schedule shall be implemented forwith, starting from Monday. This new change comes in the face of the rising threat of O-levels and the end of my prelims. Seeing as to how, with a little studying, I have done okay in my prelims, I have decided to implement a comprehensive working regime to pull up my grades. A task-force will be formed to see how to provide conditions to help me study to my optimum potential. Feedback will be gathered after a week, and left in a pile in the corner of me room to rot. Comments on ways to improve my system are always welcome, but be advised, your advice may or may not be taken up, pending on whether it ties in with my plans to cut more slack, so that I have an excuse, if not, it will be piled in a nice stack and left in the corner to gather dust. Have a nice day. :D

Avast!

Arr... This Friday do be Talk like a Pirate day and so, to get into the mood things, I be speaking like a pirate-y sort of person... yes... I suck at this :P

So, anyway, today was my amaths paper, and true to the spirit of prelims, it was incredibly tough. Fo course, me with my "studying" and all, it was the first a-math paper I have EVER finished. Including homework. Generally, I get stuck and have to be bailed out by my friends. So... yay!

After the exam, I was sitting outside with a bunch of friends, and one guy turns to me and says," so how was the paper?" And I go," Oh, quite good, quite fun." Then he gives he this really evil stare and he's like," I hate, you, that's it, I'm never going to talk to you again. I lost 20 marks already." Woah... er... okay... haha. I guess that's how tough the paper was.

You are a Pirate Second Class

Do you remember the last time you took
a chance? I do. It was when you decided
to leave the security of your mother's womb
and headed for the bright light. It's time
to head for the next bright light, my friend.
Creativity is not your strong suit. You
are good at doing what you are told to do
and that, in itself, is a gift. It's not a
gift to you, mind you, but rather a gift to
those who will be there to tell you what
to do. You like long walks on the beach and
cuddling, but would never admit that to your
Guy friends who think you are okay but can't
always remember your name. Tapioca pudding
seems a bit extreme for a fellow such as
yerself, what with all the bumps and stuff.
It's a good thing ye be on a pirate ship,
otherwise, ye'd would be walkin' because ye be
positively pedestrian. Have a nice day.

What's Yer Inner Pirate?
brought to you by The Official Talk Like A Pirate Web Site. Arrrrr!

Prelims. Up and on! Or... down and out?

Hahaha... the title is actually a class joke, don't know whether I wrote about it in a previous blog entry, but for the benefit of all, I shall explain it again. A while back, St. Andrew's rugby team lost to our rugby team, very badly, too, I think. But anyway, they haven't won in a long time, and since we knew our Geog teacher was a st. Andrew's old boy, we had a lot of fun, writing all sorts of stuff on the white board about. One particular phrase was "St. Andrew's... Up and on? Down and out!" And, so that is the origin of my title.

I'm on to the second day of 7. Physics today, it was surprisingly easy. Much, much, much easier than last year's exam, the last time I remotely studied. I finished it in half the time, and barely had any difficulty. Yay! This studying thing everyone does works miracles! Wow... I didn't believe it till this year. If you haven't tried it, now's the time to start! Haha...

Yesterday's emath paper was quite good too, I didn't encounter any difficult questions, but then, it was only the first paper. I hope the next few are just as easy, but I doubt it. Tomorrow is amath 1, hopefully I'll be able to answer all the questions without difficulty. Hmm... I did study... somewhat... I think... hopefully, this studying thing works out again. Haha. Maybe I'll go and try this studying thing a bit more later. As far as I can tell, you do as many sums as you can, and figure out how to do those you can't. It's seems quite easy, really, just... tiresome. Though, I still have no idea if it works.

I managed to paint one arm of my treeman yesterday! Mwahahahaha!! Haven't stuck the arms on though, still waiting to get UHU glue, ran out of it while sticking all my dryads to their bases. One more arm, and he's all set to go! Feel the wrath of my unarmed treeman! Bwahahaha!!

September 05, 2003

September hols are here!

Yay! That was my last paper before the holidays! Yes!! So, that's all my practicals, English and Social Studies down.

Don't know what's wrong with everyone for Social Studies. Everyone seems to just spot chapters. They study 3 and that's it. My friend was like, if Japan or some other two chapters that I can't rememeber don't come out, I'm gone. Then, when I tell him, oh, then he should study ALL the chapters next time, maybe. Like me, maybe. And he looks at me like I'm freaking mad or something. This is our second last exam!! Shouldn't we be at least trying to do well? Lucky guy got one of the chapters right for the structured essay. Course, I could have done any of them... haha... :D Yeah, well, it was the first time, I could have done any of them. I've just studied a lot more this round.

I really hope Deborah Meyer marks my compo. Or any otehr teacher with a good sense of humour. At first, I wanted to write a serious compo, but I couldn't think of what to rwite properly. Then, I decided to try a moving compo, last time I tried, I got 33/40. However, my starting was so bad... I gave up on my second try. So, I got kinda pissed, and out came my alter ego, and off he went, writing the compo. *Sigh*, always happens when I get tired of compos. So, I ended up with a weird compo based on the title 'music'. Everyone thinks my plot is so common. Big, evil bad guy tries to kill the world, good guy goes off to fight him. Course, there's alwasy a twist to my stories, isn't there? The bad guy is poverty-stricken and can only afford to hire one thug, the world refers to the music world. The reason why is unknown till the end, where it's revealed. The Good guy is an effeminate, Rambo-type character. Ouch. I think if I get the Beaver lady, I'm gone...

The rest of my exams were okay. I think I should pass my Bio practical this time, yay! At last. And I should do better than I did the last time for chem, prac. Which was just scrapping past the pass mark.

Got caught by the teacher for playing squash with a ping-pong ball in class during our quarantine period. Haha... Ouch. But we weren't scolded much, because there was another gang playing cards in one corner. Lucky for Viknesh, the teacher didn't realise there was a prefect in the class. And guess who was the best? Me!! Yay! Well, tied with another guy, anyway...

Played LAN with my classmates earlier, after we were done with the exam. First time I've played the game with anyone else, mind you. Got quite badly beaten. Was the first one out of the game. Which was unfair, my friends started ganging up on me. After I killed their scouting parties and wiped out their heroes cause they came so close to my base. *Sigh*... Oh well, not like I was any good at the game, anyway.

Also, I entered an entry in the Gender Genie. It's a program based on an article in The New York Times Magazine. It uses an algorithm to predict the gender of the author. Haha, it was right about me. It's supposed to be right 80% of the time. But, so far, it works less than 50% of the time. So, head over and have a shot!

I finally got my dryads painted, got 5, so Ihave the minimum number to field as a unit! HAHA! Yes!! Got a 500 point Wood elf army! FEAR MY WOOD ELF WRATH!!!!
