I just decided to update for no particular reason. Hmm... I finally made 6 days in school. Although today was more like a brief two hour visit to see my classmates, who no doubt miss me very much. So, I finally made it to a whole week's worth of school, more or less. I don't think I made enough time to make 5 days in school, though. But who cares? Today was also the ONLY day I ended at 4.30. Gee... I almost felt like a normal student.
Zhen may come over to play warhammer again on Sunday. Haha. The last time I played was the sunday before this. Hmm... it was also my first actual game. The game was pretty scary, considering that his army practically dwarfed mine. He had two large regiments of 20 spearmen and a regiment of swordmaster. 10 or 15, I can't remember. It's a really good we had so much space between us. If not, I would have been slaughtered very fast. Especially considering about 90% of my models were archers.
Aye, the battle was long and brutal. His chariot and spearmen chased my dryads off in the first turn of combat between them. *Sigh* My only unit of close combatants other than my treeman. Which was very funny, because I chose to park my treeman behind the dryads and charge him later. Too bad, I didn't get a chance. Since my dryads fled, his two units pursued, and most unfortunately, decimated my dryads. However, this opened up his ONLY mage who was hiding behind the two regiments, meaning that I could charge my treeman straight into his mage. Mwahahaha! All it took was one turn to destroy the only magic user in his army. After that, magic and arrows took his army apart.
Suffice to say, I am very happy with my archers. They turned the battle and proved to be very powerful in the stand and fire reaction to charges. In fact, they took out the chariot when it charged one of my groups of archers. Which was very fortunate. If at any time, one of his regiments so much as touched my back line, I think I would have lost, and badly at that.
Too bad I lost my treeman and my dryads, though. The dryads fled in the first round of combat, which was really sad, and my treeman fled after sustaining one wound from spearmen, whcih was even more sad. Zhen's repeater bolt thrower didn't do very much either. It killed 3 archers before the crew were ruthlessly slaughtered by a hail of arrows. Yay!
Of course, having treesing as a bound spell to my treeman helped a lot. I could move the forests around, and moved it into Zhen's way... hee hee, then cast spells that were aided by the presence of nearby trees to deal 2d6 strength 4 wounds to his army. After a while it got so maddening that he started to try and dispel all my treesong attempts. Heh. There's a lot to be aid for having double the number of mages your enemy has. :D
It was a good day for the wood elves. And to girls who say otherwise. Umm... Legolas was a wood elf. :)
Yay! I'm a member of the prestigious P.E.T.P.I.K.A. It's a pokemon rights group, it stands for People for Ethical Treatment of Pokemon and Instillment of Kinder Attitudes. We fight for rights for those poor, ill-treated pokemon. Can you believe what it must be like? Stuck in a pokeball all day, brought out to fight other pokemon against your own will. Anyway, we have an official website that hasn't been updated by the boss man in a long time. But it's still interesting and tells people about what we do.
So, my recovery from the operation has gone quite well, and apparently I have reached the peak of the pain chart thingamajiggy. So, from now on, it's less pain all the way! Yay!
Also, my friend is thinking of starting a men's synchro swimming team in Singapore. I was all for it. 'Course, I wasn't sure if he was quite serious. And it turns out he is!! :| He was kinda reluctant to speak to a girl I know who's into synchro and who's in ACJ, although there's currently no syncrho team in ACJ, but I told him hey! You'll be the ONLY synchro team in Singapore, you'll be the best in Singapore! Heck, who knows? Maybe you'll even represent us. To tell the truth, I have no idea if there even are men's synchro teams out there in the world but I'm sure there should be, and if not, hey, miracles happen!
Geez, whaddya know? I just went for a minor opoeration yesterday to... well, suffice to say 'I had a minor operation yesterday'. It's an embarrasing and delicate situation that's best left untouched. However, the pain from the general area is a real pain in the ass. In more than one way, too. Been spending most of my time lying around, which is about the only thing I CAN do, and watching old re-runs, cartoons and extended versions of the LOTR movie. Seriously. I'm half-way through the first one now. I paused it to write to my adoring fans.Well, okay we'll drop the adoring and leave it at that. Then, again, you'll probably want to drop the fan bit too. Heck, I'm in too much pain to care.
So, I'm finally taking my swim training ALL THE WAY!! Woo! I'm gonna make 10 training sessions this week. That's a first time for me too. Yay!
Ugh, I skipped school today cause I'm still feeling really bad from last night's training session. The daughter of one of the coachs, Tao Li (I think), there came down from China on vacation and is training with us. And may I say she is waaay too fast. She should be like banned. I went crazy yesterday --it's amazing what you can do with paddles and a little bit of inspiration-- and made my way through a 24 X 100 set on an average of 1.04 and she was right behind me all the way. Grr... Beat me on the last 1 or 2, too.
Anyway, I'm dropping most of my subjects in AC to cope with the schedule. Seeing as how most of my chinese periods are at the beginning of school and the end, the VP gave me the option of dropping MT. Whee! 'Course I'm still gonna attend the one lesson I can make, if I'm in school. If not, I won't be using my chinese for about a year and a half. I think I would've forgotten everything by then. Not that it's a bad thing, but I don't know, chinese may come in handy sometime, no matter how rudimentary. Haha...
Sorry for the late update everyone, I keep meaning to add an entry and everytime I almost get around to it, I get lured away by some game or other. Recently, I completed Jedi Knight 3: Jedi academy, which is so much more playable than jedi knight 2, which had you running round in circles lost. Of course, needless to say, I chose and completed the game with the dark side. Thank you, thank you.
I'm also currently into Divine Divinity, a nice game, quite user-friendly, but so much like Diablo!! Ahh... It's like a Neverwinter nights meets Diablo game. It's fun, but it's fighter-friendly. Of course, I picked the wizard. I expect to be going through a LOT of difficulty. Oh well...
Too bad, no issue 2 and 3, apparently you might have to wait a while longer, because lionel misplaced my goggles, didn’t come for training for a long time and Bernie had no idea where it was. So, anyway, I finally got it back and I’ll be trying to get my comic going soon.
By the way, for those of you reading this site, Aquadude now has a site of his own. www.thum.org/aquadude/ problem is, it's got no music, so it might be a little funny at the end of the first issue. Anyhow, I'm planning to burn the first three or more issues on a CD with the christmas one when I'm done with the issues, so it'll be more exciting then.
Meanwhile, Christmas eve was fun, the cousins were over and we had a lot of fun playing games that my bro and I arranged. The first one involved sticking tabs with instructions written on them on someone's forehead and you have to act out in accordance to the instructions till that person guesses it. I got 'I'm flamboyantly gay'. I got 3/4 words in the first minute... and then spent the rest of the time trying to figure out the last. How on earth was I supposed to guess flamboyant?!
The second one, presided by me, was kinda of a musical bingo. Everyone picked 5 numbers from 1 - 30 and when I called a number they had, they would stand up and sing a carol other than jingle bells chosen by them beforehand. In the end, we gave them the choice of singing the chorus or first verse instead of the whole song which would take too much time. Once a person had all 5 numbers called out, he or she came to the front and sang and danced to jinge bells to get the prize. I think I did okay, screwed up a bit on the number calling, but other than that it was more or less fine.
New Year’s Eve was also quite fun; First, I caught scary movie 3 with my brother, Angie, Liane and Cleo --For those of you who haven’t caught it, it’s pretty good— and then, I went out to dinner with my family and a bunch of family friends. Then, at 11:30 or so, my brother and I rushed back from the restaurant and slipped comfortably into bed as the clock reached 11:50+. If it had been up to me, I would have been in bed long ago, after all, staying up on Christmas eve is only to open the presents… right?
So, anyway, I made it to ACJC, and the first day of orientation was not quite what I expected. It was kinda fun, it was kinda boring and it was kinda weird. I was also half asleep much of the time, so I could hallucinating but I swear most of the words said that day were not in English. Our Clan cheer is not in English either, which I know for a fact because they said so. It’s in Jezzulese or something, the language of our clan, Jezzul. My brother thought it was a great idea, ‘cause then they didn’t have to come up with a sensible cheer.
I’ve also been watching a lot of Queer Eye lately. I love the show. Haha… it’s really quite entertaining and informative. I think I’ve learned a lot lately on all 5 aspects. Except, the only skills I’ve been using is mostly in the area of fashion… and grooming, maybe, but not much. After all, a lot of it deals with hair and I don’t have a lot of it.
I’ve also read quite a few good books. ‘A little knowledge’ deals with 80+ perplexing and revolutionary ideas of the West. ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ‘Swahili for the broken-hearted’, ‘How to move Mt. Fuji’ and ‘Eats, shoots and leaves. All of them are very, very good books.
Anyway, that’s all for now, and don’t expect another entry for a while, I’m going to be training a lot. I expect to be tired and grouchy and blog-unfriendly.
