Results

Hmm... so, results are coming out tomorrow. I read about it on so many people's blogs, I decided to write about it myself. Heh. 'Course, there are all the people who seem to be having nervous breakdowns about getting their results back, and then there's the other people, like Shawn who's excited. Me? I'm not really feeling anything. Maybe cause I'm waaay too tired to care. Besides, it's not like I can change anything now.

Jeffrey was going round the pool today saying how there was no way he would get above 6 points. Hmm... kinda makes you wonder whether I should be the slightest bit worried at all.

Also, I watched a bunch of really good movies lately. Haven't caught last life in the universe, I heard good things about it. Oh well. Although, I did catch Lost in translation, House of Sand and Fog, Cold Mountain and Mystic River. Heh. I notice that the movies are going towards people dying now. Hmm, 3 of 4 movies having people dying like flies.

Went to watch Cold Mountain with my friend, whom I know all the way from P6, and there were these three women who kept tsk-ing at all the scenes they deemed inappropriate. True, some were, but others, like the killing of a goat? It was made worse when at the point when the main character was shot, they went "Oh, he's shot!" And it wasn't just one who said that, they had to echo each other loudly and stare at each other wide-eyed in shock. Geez.

Also, I saw a trailer for Swimming Upstream. I read a brief sypnosis on the net for it, apparently it came out in 2002. Now there's a movie I can really get in touch with. Haha... Backstroker too. Whaddya know? I suspect it came out because of the recent influx of Australian coaches and all the media about the COE and the Sports School. I suspect the government must have thought, hmm we need a movie that has to do with swimming. All the better if it's Australian. Hah! Here's one! It's even based on a true story! Quick let's releaseit in Singapore to generate support for the Australian Coaches and the swimmers in COE and Sports School.

Curiousity killed the cat-- but cats have 9 lives...?

Meh. I had to go training this morning even though I didn't tick it off as one of my sessions for the week. Heh. Why? Because our coach, John, asked me to write the program on the board while he talked to marcus about his events. So off I went merrily with the pad and the marker, and whaddya know? There's writing on the other side of the page. So, I flip over and 'lo and behold, it's tomorrow's program. It's also a mind-shattering 7k... in the morning.

So, I'm thinking, whew, it's a good thing I'm not swimming tomorrow morning, and I look at the afternoon. Oh! Only 6k, yay. So, I go to the room and John's got this look on his face and he says, "Did you look at any of the programs for tomorrow?" So, I think, heck, he knows I probably looked at one, so I say, yeah, just tomorrow morning, and what does he say? "Well, okay, then you'd better come in the morning" And despite my protesting that I didn't tick it off as one of my sessions, I'm forced to go. Oh well. 7k. Ugh.

Well, at least the afternoon wasn't so bad. Coach challenged Jeffrey to swim a 200 Fly time trial and if he swam below 2:15, he'd take 500m off our set and if he went below 2:10, he'd take 1k off our set. Jeffrey made the 2:10 cut by a little bit, but that was enough to save us from a 1k set with dragsuit and kickboard. Whew!

Lost in translation

Oh... also, I went to watch lost in translation on Monday morning. It was 1) really cheap and 2) really deserted. I counted barely 40 people in the entire theatre. Haha... so, I had the theatre pretty much to myself, that was cool. :)

Yes, I know it was RA, but they didn't ask, and after watching it, I have no idea why it's RA. They cut out the strip bar scene, so the entire movie's pretty tame. No idea why they cut that out AND made it RA. Oh well...

I'm not going to rant and rave about how good the movie was like my brother, since he's done that and gone beyond already, but I'll just say it was a pretty good movie and I enjoyed it. Course, I'm also really tired cause of training, so you'll have to excuse the lack of desciption. It's just good, we'll leave it at that.

KOTOR

Whoo!!! I've completed Knights of the old republic! Go me!!! Right, whatever, now back to dreary old life. Ah well, it was good while it lasted. I'd go back and complete the... three sidequests I didn't quite get a chance to do, but I have to return the thing to Alex and I really can't be bothered to at this stage. I'd also really like to try the dark side path, but it's about the same. Although seeing the end movie might be interesting.... I wonder if you get to conquer the universe? :)

Star wars:Knights of the Old Republic

Whaddya know?? IT WORKS!!! IT'S ALIVE!! IT'S ALIVE!!! YEAH!!!! Hee hee... I was wrong the first time about the game, it does work, I just did some things wrong... umm... the first half a dozen times I tried to play the game. Aww, man, it's so good, I've been playing it veryday since I got it to work. Only thing is, it's quite laggy when I play it, because my computer's not fast enough. True, I have a lot of RAM, but apparently not enough. I have to shut down nearly all my background programs for it to work some what smoothly. But WHO CARES? It's Star wars!!

After all, all you have to deal with are stupid characters who refuse to run in the direction you want them to occasionally and the computer slowing down tremendously at major or big fights and large city areas where there are lots of useless people walking around laggin your computer. Sometimes, you just feel like giving up, especially when there's a battle going on that you're supposed to go to to trigger a cut scene. My computer starts lagging and either my character refuses to run in that direction despite much coaxing or he refuses to run at all. But no! I must persevere!! It's Knights of the Old Republic!!

Mwahahahahaha!!! It's kinda weird though, in JK3, I completed the game as a Dark Jedi in the end, but here, I've reached Light Side Mastery. I've got like a hundred light side points or something. My character has got this really cool beam of light behind him when you look at the potrait in his character sheet. The game is sooo good. Arr... I'll be back after I complete it, which should actually be quite soon. :)

'scue me, you're trespassing on my part of the moon

Hee hee... just read about 2.5 million people paying roughly $30 each for a 1 acre piece of land on the moon. Hmm... no wonder, no mad scientists have planted orbital lasers there recently, the moon belongs to somebody else!! What happened to the care-free days when any old evil, diabolical scientist could waltz to the moon and plant a orbital laser there to shoot down any signs of opposition?

Can you imagine NASA sending a team to the moon to build that space station Bush wants, only to be sued by people claiming NASA landed the rocket on their piece of land? Hahahahahaha...

Oh well. Although it was a very interesting idea. I should have thought of it first. Dang.

This and that

Yup, the COE's up and going, and no, apparently, that doesn't mean that we should buy less cars. Although that was what I thought was the general idea at that time. So, I've been there to try the training once, and it wasn't even a proper set, since the coach, John Dempsay (sp?), from Australia just cae in and all. And then, I fell sick. So, now I'm sick and stuck at home and I can't train.

Anyhow, I've gotten around to painting the final portion of my wood elf army and it's turning out quite bizarre. What was originally supposed to be five standard archers has turned into 5 rather unique personalities. Kinda reminds me of the fab five (QE) But 3 of them are hard to portray as wood elf archers. In fact, after I started painting them, I realised one of them, this guy with really bright colours reminded me of Carson. Hmm... I'll probably try to give hima checkered shirt. Quite difficult, yes, but it would definitely suit the model. So now, my archers are taking hours and hours to paint. Haha...

Oh... and... I CAN'T PLAY STAR WARS: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC ON MY COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Curse it! I got an original copy borrowed from Alex and I can't play it because my computer's not powerful enough!!! Curse it, dang computer... Grrr... And my mom refuses to get me a better computer or upgrade my old one. She sees no point in upgrading my computer so I can 'play silly games'.

WILL SOMEONE TELL HER IT'S STAR WARS: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC????!!!!!

*Sniff* I think I shall go curl up in a ball on my bed now. >.<
