Work week

Yes! I finally persuaded my boss, who's really nice, to tell the truth, into letting me work a 4 day week. So long as I understand that I have to stay in during my Junior Rating Course. Which I shouldn't do if all goes right. Haha. Yay! 4 day work week! Yay!

2005 Pan Pacs

Yes, finally getting around to writing another entry. Funny, the longer I go along the harder it seems to overcome the inertia and sit myself down to write something. Plus, I really don't feel like writing about my days. Who on earth would want to know what I do? I don't even want to know what I do in a day. If you did, I could sum it up for you in four words. Swim, work, swim, sleep. There. Done. That truly is my life now. Kinda sad if you think about it. Haha.

Anyway, on to Pan Pacs 2005. Wonderful meet. I had a great time on that trip. (And not just cause of the shopping at the end of it. *cough*) It was very humbling standing there with swimmers my age or younger and all going times so much faster than me and indeed, faster than our national records. My first trip out of the South East Asian region, more or less.

Even the Queensland State Championships for all its hype wasn't that competitive at the age group level, which I swam. In Singapore and the SEA, I could be ranked the top few in my age group but I go there and I'm nowhere near the top. Demoralising in some ways but more than ever, I'm determined to work harder to get there. If the Japs can do it, so why can't we? Although granted, the japs there were huge. Almost the size of the Americans and Aussies. Which is frightening.

I thought I swam pretty well for the meet. I did well for my short dist. events, although I did horribly for my long dist. but I guess that's mostly cause I haven't been training, so it's all good. Anyhow training now is killer. Which suits me. So it's all good.
