And the Oscar for 'Best Moment' goes to...
I haven't seen this mentioned on any news outlet or forum I frequent, so I thought I'd mention this here: My favourite moment from last night's Academy Awards was when Blake Edwards paid homage to George M. Cohan with his closing line, "My father thanks you. My mother thanks you. [My wife] thanks you. I thank you." Truly a classy way of tipping the hat to a true great, especially in that way as he didn't want to single anybody out. My least favourite moment was when Bill Murray didn't win Best Actor. I was really rooting for him- for obvious reasons. However, Sean Penn deserves the Oscar- they all do- so it's not all bad. And how lucky is Scarlett Johansson? Appearing in two great movies this year, a presenter, and she gets to sit next to none other than Sean Connery! And how lucky is Sean Connery? He gets to sit next to Scarlett Johansson! A sort of Freudian slip, I guess. I was rooting for Murray because his movie was so meaningful to me personally.
