Random Thought

Why is it Americans simplify all the spelling in the English language, but when it comes to the word 'fazed' they spell it 'phased'? I have encountered three seperate instances of this in the last week and I am confused.

From the Oxford English Dictionary:

faze, v. (Orig. U.S.): To discompose, disturb.

They don't even spell their own word right!

Hi PJ - Hey, I've been reading your blog for some time. Can you believe the current world records? 200 Fly in 1:53:93. That used to be a record for the freestyle, which is now 1:44:06. I've never swam a sub-2 min 200 Free before, and that's slower than the girls' record. What are they putting in the water nowadays?
