Visual Feast

Between watching Sin City and attending a Oxford University Bellydancing Club concert (a good friend was performing), I've gotten my fill of gyrating hips and exposed female flesh for the day.

I thoroughly enjoyed both and highly recommend them- especially Sin City, which was a triumph. I've never seen a comic book translated to the screen so literally before- the atmosphere, the still shots, the style all leaped off the pages and onto the screen.

A masterpiece. I can't wait for the next installments.

The Return

After a year of wandering, Confucius has returned to Oxford.

I guess I wasn't finished here after all. There are still a few things which I need to get done. Oxford has not changed in my absence: the weather is still unpredictable and the plumbing is still antiquated.

Nevertheless, there have been real changes. Many faces are new. In the dining hall, I found myself, out of habit, looking up and wondering when Rich was going to stop by. It will be a slight adjustment to imagine life in Oxford without my boisterous American buddy, but it will have to be done!

School starts in October; in the meantime, I'll be a little busy. You can keep track of me at my other blog.
